The re-imagined version of the story of Henny Penny. A city, built on an industry...A company on the brink of bringing it down to its knees... and a movement that can save them all...
Set in the fictional small city-state of Forhist that is ruled by the Fox Industries.
Forhist stands as a testament to mankind's ability to build an emerald city out of nothing. Given birth from the mines that now weave their way beneath city, Forhist stands at the top of the Tech world. Rare earth metals harvested from the mines below are made into everything and anything and exported all over the world.
But just because the streets are bright in the luminescent glow of computers that never sleep, doesn't mean the everyday people see a future of equal intensity.
Over the short decades that the city-state has existed, Fox has ruled over Forhist like a giant company instead of the living city it has become. No longer are the CEOs and board members confined to their board rooms and yet, that is where they prefer to be. Laws for the people are written by corporate attorneys that are paid to keep cash in the Founder's pockets. Police officers are glorified Security Guards.
The people are starting to get restless. While the wealthy seem to be blissfully ignorant, the middle and lower classes are feeling ignored. Protests are getting them nowhere. The 'Police' are being armed as if for war.
Fox might also be keeping a secret from the public. Someone from the inside found a way to contact the budding armed resistance group FARM with the code phrase "the sky is falling." Now, at a time when Fox might be at its most vulnerable, is the time to strike.
Madame Gustafson (Mother Goose) has sent Henrietta Penne (Henny Penny) and other FARM freedom fighters to stop Fox before it's too late and the city-state of Forhist falls to its knees.
Now it's all kinds of Cyberpunk and political drama-y. A Corporate entity is trying to govern a city and isn't doing too well. It's all that greed getting to their heads and the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. Fox Industries headquarters is like a beacon in the center of the city, tall and covered in glass, tastefully and elegantly lit up by LED lights at night. From the center the neighborhoods branch off in rings, getting worse the farther out you go. Miners and their families are the poorest, while still being able to survive.
Now, in the original story (or at least in the copy that I have) these are the characters:
As you can see from my character and mother goose (Henrietta Penne), I’ve tried taking the names and altering them so that it still held a semblance of the original but it is not required of you to do so with yours, make the character your own~ (but I’m not going to lie, I’d loooove to see what you come up with if you did it that way).
But do pick one so I can keep track of the number of players, I can carry on with less but I will take no more than five other players.
Next, pick a role to fill, it’ll give you something to base the rest of your character off of, define if you will, but it’s your job and your freedom to refine it.
"Special Forces squads are built around the skills of the individual members. But no matter how good each member of a squad is, every mission comes down to one thing; how well they work together. Because in the end, you don't need a hero to succeed in the field. You need a team." — Michael, Burn Notice, "Brotherly Love"
The Leader The Cunning Linguist/The point man The Shooter The Procurer/Logistics The Techie/The Engineer The Quiet One/Demolitions Expert The Brute Strength
I know there’s more options than people in the group, but I figure we don’t need all of them, and you could probably double up if need be, and I wanted to give some variety. If you think of anything else, feel free to shout out.
I’m not going to play the Leader role.
