User-Created Roleplays (UCRP) are member-created open-world sandboxes or larger literary projects that cannot be contained within a single thread. UCRPs are not limited to any theme or genre. They may be fan-based, fantasy, science fiction, or a combination thereof.
A successful UCRP typically provides the necessary OOC information to build a foundation for world expansion by its participants and any rules for participants to follow. Such information may include background, history, locations, technology, world maps, terminology, and character information, etc.
The rules and structure of each UCRP are established by the UCRP's GM, and as such, they are moderated not by Arkadia staff, but the project's creators. The GM's word, therefore is law, and should be followed. The GM's rules, however, will not overrule any site established rules. All site rules apply.

Arkadia’s Member of the Month for July is our very own script!
You may recognize Script as a familiar face both on the boards and on Discord. He was incredibly patient and give me a few minutes of his time for a small interview. Read on:
Q: What’s the meaning behind your username?
A: To be honest, way back when I chose it I just wanted a one-syllable name that I liked the sound of, and I came up with it because it was writing-related and sounded lolsophisticated to my 16-17 year old self.
Q: How did you find Arkadia?
A: I politely disagreed with the admin of my previous site about a policy change, got banned, and like 10 seconds later Rick slid into my DMs to poach me away. :P
Q: When did you start RPing? How’d you get into it?
A: I started RPing back in 2009. My first RP site was a fire emblem RP forum, back before I even knew what fire emblem was. They had stats and numbers and I didn't know what any of it meant, and I inserted my Kid Icarus rip-off character into it with no regard for lore or logic. I don't actually remember how I found it, but I think it was something like searching "RPG online" on google. From there I branched out into creating my own very short-lived games, and got all my RL friends into it for a couple months. They all got bored, but I kept going, and drifted over to a more generalised RP forum... and then just kept on keeping on.
Q: Tell us about your writing process.
A: I'm not sure I really have a process, unless you count just... starting typing and letting the scene write itself a process? I guess I view an RP scene kind of like a scene on a TV show, and I play it out in my mind's eye and my characters' lines just kind of come out as I'm thinking about it. Sometimes I get hung up over wording, and I particularly find I can have an issue with my dialogue being too lengthy or verbose, but I don't really edit a lot beyond little bits and pieces here and there!
Q: Do you listen to anything while you write?
A: Most of the time something character-related, but not always. For some characters I have playlists or individual songs I associate with them. For others, it's just a type of music. Like, for wolfsbane most of my characters have their own lists (even if some of them are only one song long). For Awakening I just let youtube autoplay anime music!
Q: Is there anything in particular that inspires you?
A: My inspiration usually comes from the other writers I write with, to be honest. I find it easiest to create a character when I have an idea how they'll interact with the plot or the characters that the other people I'm going to be writing with have created. Other than that, I get inspired a lot to make characters by finding cute art - sometimes a piece of character art will just beam a personality into my head, and I'll know who they are instantly. Then the question becomes figuring out the details around that, and WHY they are that way.
Q: Favourite book, movie, TV show, and song. Go!
A: These questions are always so difficult for me because I'm actually really bad at consuming media these days. I haven't read a book properly in years and it's awful. But from what I have done in the past... Book: Good Omens, Movie: I honestly answer this one differently every time I'm asked, but today it's gonna be Spiderman Into the Spiderverse, Song: UHHH jet set run v2 from my hero academia tbh I'm weeb trash.
Q: Any tips for fellow writers?
A: When you can, write with people in collab docs. Getting instant feedback and reply from what you write means you get the good chemicals FASTER which means it's easier to motivate yourself to write more. It also makes dialogue a lot less clunky where you're trying to reply to multiple statements and questions out of order and it gets real spaghetti-like.
