[attr="class","smallinfoboxyakidark2"]Charlie Anderson does not come off as a particularly remarkable person. She keeps to herself, but is polite to just about everyone, no matter how oppositional they are. Her kind but neutral presence tends to leave a mild but positive impression on strangers and acquaintances. She’s quite modest, rarely speaking openly about her position at the Academy for fear of seeming too exclusive. Her passion for knowledge is clear in how much she genuinely enjoys her scientific studies— but she doesn’t always reach her full potential. She vehemently dislikes confrontation, always taking the extra step to personally work around issues instead of trying to change them first-hand.
But avoiding conflict is near impossible for her. Due to her dual professions (see backstory), she constantly runs the risk of angering not one, but all three factions. It’s because of this that she holds her neutrality so tightly, silently agonizing over decisions with few to turn too. She’s independent and well-motivated because of this, but she also has a host of trust issues. Few people see anything beyond her demure demeanor and work at the Academy. When all the dust has settled, she will long for companionship, but never dares to think of changing the life she’s built for herself. She’s Zero for a reason— to use her gathered information to keep her small, fragile society working as long as she can.

She takes apart concepts and machinery at a rapid pace, engineering projects and solving puzzles with little assistance from others. She specializes in engineering and computer science, but can expand into related subjects provided she’s given proper time and resources.
ii. LEVITATION: The radiation she was exposed to as a child left her with the ability to hover. However, she tires quickly if higher up than a couple inches. She can float as often as she likes, and enjoys doing so most of the time, but she can only do brief high-jumping stunts. It also has the strange consequence of preventing her from falling to death, as she simply descends at a slow rate until she reaches the ground.
iii. INVISIBILITY: In a kind of physical representation of her quiet personality, Charlie has the ability to turn completely invisible. She can also cloak objects she’s touching, but for unknown reasons, only lighter materials like cloth and paper disappear without issue. She often has to take her glasses off when sneaking around.
[attr="class","smallinfoboxyakidark"]Willow Kay Scott was born in a deserted alleyway under the ruins of Toronto, Ontario— the youngest of five in a family desperate for a way to survive. Her parents were bitter, ruined people who gave her little more than whatever food and clothing they could manage to bring back at the end of the day. She quickly grew to understand that she couldn’t stay with her family long. She scavenged the sparsely-populated streets for whatever books and computer parts she could get her hands on, and by the time she was 15, she managed to get in contact with a merchant named Skye from the Citadel.
Knowing that her backstory would garner no sympathy, Willow told them she was a student in the nearby educational district. She did, however, send the real papers she had written in between shifts at the factory her family worked at, and Skye was impressed with their content. They offered her a proposition: come to the Citadel, no questions asked, and be taken under their wing as an apprentice.
She accepted immediately. Willow, under the new name Charlie Anderson, left nothing more than a vague note for her elder siblings and took all the money she had scraped together over the years for a train ride to the Citadel. There, she began taking full advantage of her new surroundings via years of scientific training. With Skye’s connections as help, she managed to get into the Academy at age 18, all the while being watched carefully by the Carmesi Cartel. They wanted an inside man in the Academy. Charlie, slightly upset by how little her current faction was offering their knowledge to the public, offered to take requests for information. From then on, she was a double agent, juggling her morals and the rules of the Citadel in an increasingly divisive society.
